On Saturday and Sunday, July 28-29, 2012, The Central Iowa Lawn Mower Racing Association (CILMRA) will host the STA-BIL America’s Heartland Summer Nationals & US Midwest Open for two days of sod stomping at the River Bottom Raceway in Carlisle, Iowa, just outside Des Moines.

“As a USLMRA Local Chapter, we take great pride in hosting both the STA-BIL and U.S. Open Racing Series,” said Curt Hodges CILMRA President. We are so excited about this weekend, and we’ve been planning for months to make it spectacular. We plan to make this a very special event for drivers and spectators alike.”

For this event CILMRA has teamed up with “Central Iowa Outdoors Without Boundaries,” an Iowa group that raises money to take handicapped outdoorsman hunting and fishing. This group is 100% independent and 100% of every dollar they raise goes straight to the cause.  A portion of all sponsorship and race proceeds will go to support this great group of individuals!

This is a Double Header Weekend with a STA-BIL Series Race and U.S. Open Race on both days.  If you have a racing mower, it is deemed to be safe and passes Tech Inspection, we will find a class for you and you will race.

PLEASE NOTE: Racers will pay a $20.00 fee, which covers insurance, pit access, rental of one transponder and computer timing & scoring.  Additional transponders rental is $5.00.  Drivers may use the same transponder for different classes, as long as transponder switch does not delay start of a race.  Drivers will be allowed to bring 2 additional pit crew and/or family members into the pits for $5 ea to cover pit access and insurance. ALL other persons must pay $15.00 for Pit Access.

General Admission into the Grandstands will be $5 with children 10 and under free.

Other activities: There is a local tractor museum, “Tractors of Yesterday” close to the track that will be open and will have tractors on display. There is a downtown street dance being planned for Saturday night. Downtown area within walking distance of the track. The track concession will be open during race times and there will be other food venders available.
