The annual STA-BIL National Lawn Mower Racing Series Snowbird Nationals generated a new level of MOWtivation this year with the additional of the STA-BIL Southern Regional Championships.
On March 10-11, racers and staff from 13 states gathered at one of America’s oldest and longest consecutive operating nationally sanctioned dedicated lawn mower racing tracks, the Avon-Park Mowerplex for a weekend of racing, camaraderie and family fun.
The intent of the Regional Championships is to increase the prestige of selected events and create an opportunity for more bragging rights. A Regional Racer Banquet and Awards Ceremony will be offered at each Regional Championship. Any USLMRA member can compete in any Regional Championship regardless of where they live. Regional Championships are based on venue location, not racer residence.
The weekend started on Thursday night with a racer and sponsor appreciation party hosted by NASGRASS with seafood and fixin’s cooked and offered by Michael Paccione and Rocket Man Racing. Racing took place on Friday and Saturday nights and culminated with a Saturday night on-track racer feast and awards ceremony honoring race winners and the Southern Regional Champions.
