Bowles Farms Weekend will be a lot of fun and will give racers a chance to obtain STA-BIL Series Points AND enjoy some Open Class Racing! We’ve also been getting many inquiries and requests about a U.S. Open Points Series and we are working on that for 2012 – our 20th Anniversary season. Stay tuned!

Rolling Starts will be used at Bowles Farms in all classes, STA-BIL Series and U.S. Open Classes. We are working on the logistics of A Mains, B Mains, qualifying, 2 lap time trials for Bowles Farms Weekend.

FREE Membership for First Time US National Points Racers will be offered at Bowles Farms. USLMRA understands that with the price of gas going up throughout this racing season, travel will be difficult. And for some even jobs have been on the line, alone just the cost of living going up. It has been our goal with the announcement of the US Open Series along with the announcement of Rolling Starts to attract all racers who would like to participate the right to do so. Last season we lowered the cost of our membership to $20.00 to help our members. We are able to achieve this with the help of our sponsors and event fees.  At Bowles Farms, all First Time Racers that sign in at the Registration Table will be given free 2011 USLMRA Membership. This is a savings of $20.00 to you to get you started. You will still need to fill out a Membership Form at the event so we can put your information in the database to achieve your National Points.

USLMRA membership fee is not required to compete in the U.S. Open Classes.  STA-BIL Series Racers/USLMRA Members can also compete in the U.S. Open Classes if they wish. This will give USLMRA racers a chance to meet, race and socialize with some new friends at one of the finest lawn mower racing facilities in the country.  Racers from all sanctioning bodies and groups are welcome to come out and run at BOWLES FARMS.

Separate races will be run and trophies awarded for the U.S. Open Classes.

If you have not raced at Bowles Farms in the past you will be “AMAZED”! Tommy and Tina Bowles along with Ronnie Mattingly and his crew spare no expense when it comes to putting on a great venue.   The track is absolutely terrific, with smooth clay, plenty wide and lights all around.  Racing under the lights allows gives the track great grip and a smoking fast track.

In 2009, the track was redone and a clay surface has been added – it will be 30 ft wide, over 700 ft long, and promises to be fast and smooth as smooth can be. Covered grandstands, hay bails for miles, pit parking for everyone, track help by the truck load, air conditioned restrooms, camping room for an army of racers and mow; however there will be no hook ups for campers and RV’s. Restrooms are open until 10 pm daily and they will also have portable facilities.  Barry “B Man” Sullivan and Bubba from SSS Entertainment will be on hand all weekend to keep y’all entertained!

This is a lawn mower racing event for the whole family to attend with other activities including Children’s Moon Bounce, Kiddy Tractor Pull, John Deere Toy Display, K-9 Demonstrations and Antique Tractors on Display, Face Painting, and Barry “B Man” Sullivan from SSS Entertainment keeping the party mowing after the races on Saturday night.  New this year, on Saturday, will be a Mini Excavator Challenge, and racers who are good with using operating equipment are invited to compete for prizes.

Last year over 9,200 spectators witnessed 2 days of spectacular racing. This year drivers will be provided to meals on Friday and again on Saturday.

Spectator admission is $8.00 per person, children 8 and under free. The races benefit the 7th District Rescue Squad and the 7th District Optimist Club.  Here is their Facebook Page:  St.Mary’s County National Lawn Mower Racing.

There will be only one entrance for the racers to come in to the pits, thus when you arrive with your mowers we will be admitting 1 racer and 1 crew member, everyone else will pay admission.

We have also acquired a few extra $$$$’s for this weekend. So for this weekend there will be a drawing for drivers to win $50.00 cash tow money. We ask that only drivers that have driven over 100 miles enter.
