To show its support for the green-blooded residents of Pennsylvania, the U.S. Lawn Mower Racing Association (USLMRA) has announced a Grassroots Stimulus Package to assist a state that has supported the association and its racers for 18 years.

“The STA-BIL National Lawn Mower Racing Series is a grassroots organization, and we know how hard it is to cut it in this economy. So, we’ll do our share with the mowney we can spare,” said Bruce Kaufman, “Mr. Mow It All”, USLMRA Founder and President. “The STA-BIL National Lawn Mower Racing Series will give five Pennsylvania residents checks for $75 each. It’s our small way to give back to the Keystone State to let you buy some milk, hot dogs or even grass seed. If you can use extra cash, mow for it!” Winners will be announced on Memorial Day weekend.

To be eligible to win, email your name, address and your idea for an original and creative STA-BIL Series race team name (Sodzilla, Turfinator and Weedy Gonzales are a few examples) to stimulus@letsmow.com by May 20, 2010. Official contest rules can be found here.

The USLMRA also recommends that any fairs or festivals within the state looking to host lawn mower racing contact Tom Lavalette, President of the Pennsylvania Lawn Mower Racing Association (PALMRA) at www.palmra.com.
