START YOUR LAWN MOWERS!!!!
This will be the battle cry heard all around the nation this coming up weekend, Feb 17-18, 2018 as the United States Lawn Mower Racing Association invaded the Florida State Fair Grounds in Tampa, FL for the first stop on the 2018 Sta-bil national Lawn Mower Racing circuit, the Sunshine State Nationals.
Excitement is an understatement as teams from all across the country race to put the finishing touches on their MOWchines. There seems to be quite a few new racers planning to attend our events this year, both young and old. I’ve been seeing lots of new builds and class changes on the horizon for this up coming season, as well. You guys and gals are really MOWtivated this year! I’m so excited to see what everyone has been busy working on in the off season.
While you all have been working on your mowers, tracks, and other fun things during our time off, everyone here has been plugging away trying to get things ironed out for the rest of the season. The schedule isn’t fully complete as of yet, we are still waiting on some commitments and contracts for other venues. Kerry has been quite busy handling all things insurance. Manny had been making some adjustments to the rule book, which is complete now. The revised rules for 2018 were posted a few days ago to our website. Please familiarize yourselves with them.
We hope that the off season has been treating each of you well. It will be a welcomed relief to us to be able to put the stressors of the winter behind us for a while and focus on what we all love; Lawn Mower Racing!
Although, it is racing, it isn’t just racing for those of us in the USLMRA. It is the strong sense of family that we provide to one another. It is also the camaraderie of each individual out there with us. It’s traveling all the way across the country, and being welcomed into homes and families. It is just like coming home, no mater where we go!
Thank you all for contributing to all of these feelings that each one of us has as race day draws closer! Thank you all for being a part of our Racing family! Let’s all do our best at making 2018 the best season yet in the USLMRA. I can not wait to get back out there with you all VERY soon!
